Like no other place in the world….

People knock New York, but I really do love the city. The thing about it is that you can go outside, walk around with no plan and just encounter things. I’ve been to a few places. I have by no means been everywhere, but those who read this thing know I like to go places and usually you have to leave with a plan. Go to a museum, or a park or something. New York, you just walk out the door and you never know what to expect. You walk around for a few hours, encounter really interesting things and then go back not knowing exactly what you did, but knowing you did enjoy yourself.

I spent a few pleasant hours wandering New York this week and these are the things I encountered. First off, its Wednesday, so I guess its band practice today:

I know, not the usual Natalia specials, with the crazy colors and all, but I am trying to develop my whole photojournalism side. My eventual goal is to be able to have a portfolio of the really crazy stuff and the photojournalism side by side. Eh, enough about my future as supreme photography goddess of the world. Like I said, it was band practice, but this band was playing disco tunes, so it was pretty funny. They also had dancers along with them, for some reason:

Next up, a person whose internal dialog must include words I have said to myself before “just how in god’s name did I get myself into this mess?”:

Poor guy. He was hot and all, but somehow, I felt bad photographing him. Trust me, that doesn’t usually happen. Anyway, at first glance, he did really and truly look like a mannequin. Then our hero got a cold beverage:

Last, but not least, a few shots from the seventh ring of hell and by that I mean the New York City subway system. This girl’s dress was so funnily hootchie that I had to photograph it:

Tim Gunn says that the right accessory can make or break an outfit. With her, I am not sure if it was the chain or the graduation hat. Either way, I found it quite funny, shot a few and magiced them up a little in post production:

Thank you City of New York for providing me with so many photographic opportunities. I can only be grateful for the invention of the memory card, lest I be drowning in undeveloped film and prints on top of prints on top of prints. Oh wait. I already am.
