Yup, my first July 4 as an actual American. I thought I might commemorate it the only way I know how — with photos.

First, a few examples of people expressing their patriotism in subtle and understated ways:

I like the photojournalism look of these. I declare my independence. I am going to find a way to run away and be a photojournalist. Maybe.
