The answer is no.  Well, actually I am not an arctic explorer.  I went skiing at Sunday River in Maine.  That sounds considerably less exciting than arctic exploring, but honestly at some points during this trip, I felt like I was an actual arctic explorer.  With views like this, how could you not?:
