I know, peculiar title, but I’ll explain.
I’ve been at this photography thing a long time. I mean I’m not that old but I’ve been taking photos for half my life. I started with a free camera my parents got with their Time Magazine. Then I moved on to a Ricoh Point and Shoot.
I didn’t know very much about photography back then. Actually, I knew next to nothing. The Ricoh was a fixed focus point and shoot, which means attempting to photograph anything that was less than a foot away was an exercise in futility. Blur…
But I had that camera for a while. One day I went some place with my parents and I saw someone had taken one of those Virgin Mary vestibules and put Barney, the purple dinosaur of children’s cartoons into it and made this kind of Barney destroying the city scenario going on. It was awesome! And where is my photo of it? I have none because that day I left my trusty Ricoh at home.
