Let Ye Manly Contest Commence

And a manly contest it was.  Actually, it was for a really good cause and about as much fun as I could ever have without a pair of skis on.

Never mind the fact that the formula was about as non-conducive to fun as one could have ever gotten.  First, no snow, no mountains, no ski lifts.  Just kidding.  No, but it was a terribly cold day with sheets of rain.  Slanted rain.  Thousand year rain.

Now our hero for some reason decided that this was the day to not dress up in too much wintry gear.  Winter is over, cold weather banished.  Yes.  Famous last words.

And then there is the little matter of the Harvard Stadium, built in 1903, also probably last renovated around the time when the Titanic went down in those icy waters.  The thing is old and creaky.  I sat on a wooden bench and by wooden, I mean un-sanded planks.  The trip to the concession stand during the break involved jump over puddles large enough to swim in.

I loved every minute of it.  No joke.  It was a ton of fun.

Back to Ye Manly Contest:

The national soccer team from Haiti was playing the Harvard University Soccer team. It was part of an annual event called Haiti Leve to raise money for the good people of Haiti.  I am now the proud owner of a Haiti team jacket.  Most of the people at the game were cheering for Haiti.  As was I.

Let’s get to the photos.  First a few pre-game shots:
