For the record, I am not Richard Avedon.  First the photos, then a story:

I think this is a well known New York socialite.  I photographed her with my zoom lens in the Good Morning America studio in Times Square.  I am not a great portrait photographer, so this is just that an attempt to learn.  I was trying take a really good, stylish portrait.  I don’t know if I actually succeeded.  I did also take another:

I have mentioned before that I travel oceans for this blog.  I went up and down the Grand Canal looking for things to photograph to appease the blog gods. Now I also make the regular New York photos look like oceanic reflections, don’t I?:

Grand Canal, you will just have to wait.  I have parking lots to photograph!

I guess as well I wanted to get the Christmas frenzy, but portray it in a sort of different way.  Something about the sameness of these places that intrigues me.  Don’t ask me why.  The photos?  Ah yes, the photos.  Of course:
