Let’s go to the movies!

Let me start this entry by saying that whenever I take a photo, I have an image already in mind.  There is an image forming in front of me, but I can already see the finished image as well.  Sometimes I am seeing a movie.  What kind of movie it is, I don’t know.  Who the characters are, I don’t know, nor do I know what the story is.  But I know what the images of the movie are going to be.  After you see the following images, will it come as any surprise to find out that my favorite movies are 1940s noirs?:

The creative muse strikes at the weirdest of moments

And I don’t mean when one is about to sleep, showering or watching such quality programming as “The Real Housewives of ______” (you fill in the name).  No, this time the creative muse struck me more in a moment of necessity.  Chuck Bass II, my camera (don’t judge about the name) has two assistants.  One is a 55-250 millimeter lens and the other is a 18-55 millimeter lens.  The 55-250 is actually my younger child, but is responsible and works hard.  The 18-55 is my older child but seems to be going through some kind of rebellious phase right now, deciding to work sometimes, and not other times.  Those times also coincide with when I have a really perfect shot set up.  So, I have to turn to my younger child to help me.

On my recent sojourn down the eastern seaboard, I saw many a mechanical device and I decided to photograph it with my 55-250 mm lens.  See if you like the results:
