“food”

I flew Continental Airlines recently. This airline has these ads all over the place about how their Business First section is some kind of Shangri-La. It was some kind of nothing. The coach section, where I sat, resembled the transportation one usually associates with the type used to move cattle. Or cargo.

I was sandwiched between a teenager and some Swede who was asleep as soon as he sat down for the six hour transatlantic flight. Then, we were served this “food.” I’ve flown a lot, but this was the worst I’ve ever seen. I took out the digital camera and snapped some photos of this “food.” The Swede started laughing, but I couldn’t let this “food” go by without preserving it for posterity.

I almost forgot to mention that the tray table the “food” was on was actually drooping downward. I tried to capture that wonderful aspect of the whole thing, but it didn’t come across.
