I start off with this shot because there is something just wistful American Gothic looking. So, yeah, so obviously I went to a wedding this weekend and the bride is an old friend. Like I always say, this thing is about my photos, not my life, so that’s all I am going to say about that. They had a wedding photographer, but I wanted to get the weird, behind the scenes type of stuff that the other guy wouldn’t get. And I do believe I got it. I got some typical wedding stuff:
But I got a couple like this one that I think are a little atypical for wedding shots:
Then these, total backstage details kind of stuff:
That’s the other camera totting insect fixing my friend’s dress. And these:
I got the reception too:
I liked the paparazzi feel to that one. This next one was inspired by a photo I saw in the New York Times once of revelers at a party at the Plaza Hotel in the 1950s:
And, lastly, love, oh love:
wedding
And just when are you getting married, young lady? Do you realize your parents don’t have ANY grandchildren yet? You’re not getting any younger, you know….
Re: wedding
I’d just like to gently remind whoever wrote this last comment that this blog is about my photographs, not me.
Posh Loves You
You are such a fabulous photographer… I will have to have you photograph my wedding if I ever meet my real-life Batman or Superman husband.
