During a recent read of the New York Times, I happened upon a book called “Take Ivy.” A photographer from Japan traveled to the US during the 1960s and photographed the preppy style of the Ivy League, hence Take Ivy. The book is way out of print and really rare. Some blogs have portions of it up and I got a look. I have to say I was inspired by that outsider’s take on preppy wear.
At Head of the Charles, it was wall to wall collegiate preppies and I went to work:
Yes, only two and they aren’t even Ivy League schools, I understand, but maybe we have the start of a project here on college style? Don’t know.
I want a jacket that says Wolverine on the back like those guys have… you can leave off the “Crew” part… thanks.
