Notes from an important cricket match

So, two nights ago I attended an event very important to the denizens of Boston but not very important to most of the people who read this blog.

Witness:

Yes, this is Derek Jeter and he is in his Yankees away uniform.  This next photo should tell you where he is:

Yes, I attended the Red Sox-Yankees game at Fenway Park on April 7.  Got that Google?  That is the way to drive traffic to my site.

I admit I only went because I wanted to take some photos and I like the colors of the park and kind of the excitement of the game.  In fact, I realize I like the excitement of most live events, concerts, games and the like.

Most of my loyal blog reading public know I did attend a Red Sox game about two years ago and I focused on the surroundings, but this time I had my good lens, so I tried some sports photography.  I used to have a rule whereas I did not shoot sports, but I thought I could give it a try again.  I had a similar phobia of shooting bands, but that changed, and I think this time, the sports photos followed the same pattern.  Anyway, I know few if any names of the players and don’t expect any astute observations about the game.

Now there will be a lot of photos and not very much text.  Just sit back and admire my attempts at being America’s Next Top Sports Photographer:

That gent above is Alex Rodriguez, A-Rod.  You may know him from his recent appearances in the tabloids and his use of certain substances.  Needless to say, the Bostonians booed him but that was the reaction to most of the Yankees.

Derek Jeter, again.  I once offended a New Yorker by asking if he is one of the guys who throws the ball….

That is the Jeter back view.  Not necessary a terrible one.

Derek Jeter again.  There will be some Red Sox, I promise.

OK, more Derek Jeter.  Sorry about that.

Sorry for the blur on this one.  I just thought the body position had something sculptural or bull fighter-ish about it.

A Red Sox player, finally.  The next few won’t have any text:

I really liked the one above because he is smiling.

And finally:
