Never a dull moment when your life is full of funny characters.  In this case, a friend who comes from rather hot climes coming to the rather cold climes of Boston in February.  Did I mention he doesn’t exactly own a hat or winter shoes for that matter?  Well, that explains some of the funny facial expressions.
