If every sunrise looked like this one, I’d be up at 5am everyday

Well, like I might have mentioned a few times before, I am not a fan of early mornings. I can be asleep, dreaming that the pope is giving me the ingredients to the secret ice cream and I’d rather stay that way. By the way, I did once have a dream that the pope, the real one, was giving me the ingredients to the secret ice cream. We got to caramel before I was awoken by the evilest sound in the world — my alarm.

Anyway, why am I going on and on about this? Because I got to experience a Venetian sunrise. Observe:

I did nothing to these photos. OK, that isn’t exactly true. I sharped and played with a little contrast here, but otherwise, nothing. This is just what it looked like when I shot it. Another? OK:

The Venetian sunrise makes the sidewalks purple. Amazing. Early in the morning, maybe I will eventually embrace it. Maybe when I move to Venice!

And now commences the extreme, ridiculous beauty that has no apparent end

I speak of course of a pleasant hamlet located in the middle of Italy that defies words with its unrelenting, extreme beauty. Yeah, I know, we are jumping around with Florence, Bologna and now Venice, but my internets time is short, so I gotta make it quick.

Anyway, Venice. As you all know, built on water, completely surrounded by the Grande Canale and as I may have mentioned, extremely ridiculous, mind numbingly beautiful. I mean OK, usually I have to think a lot about setting up my photos and processing them and all of there. Here, virtually, I could point the camera forwards and get some kind of extremely good shot, no problem. A few examples? OK, here you go:

The internets here is slower than molasses in winter, so I will post more, many, many, many, many, many more once I am near more hospitable internets. For now blog audience, know that I am out there for you every day shooting away just for you!

I stole this one

Good artists copy. Great artists steal:

So I am walking casually through the Galleri degli Uffizi when I notice a book about David in Italian. David’s torso has been isolated from probably many photos of him and made very moody and dark. I thought to myself “gee, I could do that. Doesn’t look hard.” And well, surprise, I did:

I just really hope this doesn’t look weird and dismembered. Wouldn’t want that.
