Look up

All sorts of interesting things there in Cambridge if you just look upwards. I am guessing this is some kind of Harvard energy saving campaign. But I thought they made good photos:

No, this is not a hologram

Yes, this is Victoria Beckham and yes this is her really, flesh and blood. Note to my fan base — see, here is a real human on my website.

This was a different photographing experience. Buildings usually don’t talk back, but celebrities are used to being photographed. In addition, as is obvious from above, I also arted the photos up a bit.

Here we are in full on artistic mode:

I thought this looked like an ad, sort of. Here it is in color:

And this one started out as an accident, but I think turned out interesting:

I really liked these. Of course, I am not sure how Mrs. Beckham felt about being photographed. She rather looked a bit peeved here by the photography insect, that is me:

I admit it felt kind of weird to have pictures of Victoria Beckham that I took on my memory card and computer. I am still sort of processing this whole thing.

Finally

I can’t believe how much trouble this building gave me. I have countless photos of it on my computer and I never liked a single one. This one is the first one I liked a lot. I was out with a friend and just tried to convince her it was misting out because I wanted to shoot. Ah, but finally. I am happy.

Let’s see, approximately 5 buildings in the sky line conquered. So many more to go….

For not being a huge baseball fan, I sure do post a lot of photos of this thing

I am not your usual baseball fan, as I don’t know the names of any of the Red Sox players. Yeah, that is a pretty funny statement, but in as much as I am a baseball fan, I like the quirky Red Sox mythology, the Green Monster and of course, the colors of Fenway. I like the red of the stands and the green of field.

Now if I could learn the name of the short stop or someone in the out field on the Red Sox, I’d be OK.

One of the few things I have not always wanted to photograph

I write a lot of these entries and they say things like “I always wanted to photograph this, but didn’t know how.” This for a change of pace isn’t going to be one of those entries.

I don’t even know what the story was behind these photographs, but I can say it was advantageous having the new lens. It helped with the photograph, but the adventure began with the processing.

First we had this:

But I decided it lok a little bit too much like something you would get with a picture frame and throw away, so I went back to the drawing board and got this:

But I endlessly tinker:

Photojournalism?

Like I mentioned before I got a new lens and I am out right now practicing with it. I look at pictures in the New York Times sometimes and think “I could do that. It isn’t hard.”

Well, I decided to put my money where my mouth is. No insane colors, no nothing, just pure photos. Lemme know what you think. By the way, this is some Boston University regatta from last weekend:

I know, not the insane colorfullness you are all accustomed to, but I like the way they turned out. I’m going to say competent. Yes, competent.
