I would say this looks Social-realist, except for the big shark week advertisement in the background.

No celebrities were harmed during the course of this photo session….
Nice image of a singer, eh? How did she get that? Well, I’ll give you a hint. Its Beyonce. No, I didn’t meet her. She’s not actually real. This is the wax Beyonce from Madame Tussard’s House of Wax and Wackery. For a connoisseur of the waxy and tacky, this is a goldmine for me. This could be an entry just straight up on the figures and all, but I decided to make the photos like artistic paparazzi ones. Intrusive, but also verging on art. Feel free to tell me if I’ve succeeded or not:
Those two above, in real life, already look like they are made of wax.
To enjoy this photo, you have to be Hungarian. And double jointed!:
The Wood-man, all alone:
Don’t be fooled by the rocks she got:
Be fooled by the Benz, Rolls and personal umbrella holder.
Leo and Miss Tuna or Chicken:
Look at this pretty lady and Gloria Estefan:
OK, its Jon Bon Jovi.
Old Hollywood star James Dean done up to look like an old Hollywood photo:
And to end it, Andy Warhol, improved in post production to look like a work of Andy Warhol:
I don’t know who I find more interesting. Warhol, or the girl in the background trying to look like Lady Liberty?
Glowing boat
This whole series just made me extremely happy….
I was going to go into a whole spiel about these photos and how they are influenced by Damien Loeb and photorealism, but I’m going to skip that. I don’t feel like getting existentialist today. I know, it would be a day without sunshine without some kind of weird contemplation by me, but I just wanted to put these photos out there, for all to see. And praise. Heap praise on. Just kidding.
And without further chattering noises, I present:
These photos above are as is. I did not manipulate them at all. That is how the water front looked at sunset. I love these photos. They are some of my favorites I’ve taken lately.
But, its not like I can restrain myself from the tinkering:
By the way, that is a blimp up there, not a UFO.
One more, just to make it an even number of photos:
I’m just as good as Damien Loeb, gosh darn it.
The NY, bright
Post apocalyptic New York
Depression-era North Carolina
The fence speaks
All right, I admit it. I get inspired by other photographs. This one above was inspired by a photograph called “Soliloquy of the Broom” taken by William Henry Fox Talbot in 1841. I didn’t totally rip it off, but I am happier with this one than other attempts at this photo.
I had to make it me:
And, I love those sepia tones:
See, I told you we’d get back to the crazy colors.
Is the cell phone giving me gang signs?
Actually, it looks like he’s about to give me a hug. Anyway, these are not artistic. They are just funny, so no commentary about “where are the crazy photos?” Sometimes, I just like to be funny.
He gets coquettish:
And, our little Blackberry man is a patriot:
Don’t worry. We’ll be back to regularly scheduled programming, momentarily.
A small day in the life
Boston is smaller than New York, so it gets a smaller day in the life up here on the blog. This entry is focused on something that play a big role in my life — taking public transportation. My “fan(s)” know I take lots of fine photos on public transportation. Well, I hope these are fine:
I like the b&w one. My dad said too many pits were being exposed. To each, his own.
And, another addition to my vastly expanding collection of photos of people playing instruments on the train:
Well, I got the guy moving while playing his instrument and another guy sitting right by, fascinated. Enjoy.
