Days And Nights With Nemo
Downsides of Nemo:
I have not been able to leave the house for the past (almost) three days. All forms of public transportation were shut down in the Commonwealth of Massachusetts. My street has walking paths carved out in the giant mountains of snow. My weekend skiing plans were ruined by this snow eruption. I have a big case of cabin fever. I’ve eaten through my entire supply of candy. I watched an entire season of House of Cards and caught up on a week’s worth of TV. And I watched half of the Westminster Kennel Club dog show when my former best friend Rufus, the Colored Bull Terrier won. I also watched my favorite and as far as I know only Lithuanian basketball player movie, the Other Dream Team. Did I mention I also managed to fold the entire contents of my closet? So I kept busy.
Upsides of Nemo:
Pictures. Lots of them.

And Then This Happened
So Nemo, the 2013 super storm left most of us camping in front of the TV, watching Roku and waiting to get back to our regular lives. Some people planned their own fun. Some people took matters into their own hands. Like this lady:
No, that isn’t me. Those are telemark skis. I downhill ski, not telemark. And I don’t have my own skis yet. But when I do, you know I will be out there doing this:
We’re All French Toast
Actually, we are all toast, owning to the fast the winter super storm Nemo is currently barreling down the Eastern seaboard, covering it in tons of fresh snow. Thank god, because that will make skiing much better.
I have to wonder exactly what kind of person I am who heads out into the cold when there is a storm going on. I take it as some kind of a challenge to go out into the storm. I took all of these photos at various time today. The night set was taken when I went outside in my ski pants, gloves and hat. I nearly wore goggles too. At least my glasses would not have been covered in snow if I had worn them.
Now I would like to present to you Winter Storm Nemo 2013:
Ninjas
They Spoke To Me
The Night The Trees Got Strange
Boston Fashion File XXVI
Ski slope edition. Actually I’ve wanted to do this one for a while since I see some really great and not so great outfits on the weekend trips to the slopes. Usually I’m concentrating a little bit too much on carving my turns and what’s up next for the slope to snap a photo. Not to mention by the time I’ve gotten my enormous gloves off and taken the camera out, the fashionable subject in question is gone.
But not this time. This time the subject remained relatively still so I could snap their photo. First up, a spiked hat that would not look out of place on the Muppet Show:
Oh and it only gets better. MUCH BETTER. So good, well, you just have to see this:
Fake beard yarn face warmer good. Red headed fake beard face warmer. MAGNIFICENT YOUNG MAN.
