Cold, Stark Architectural Shots

Which I love.  Again, don’t know where it comes from, because I always set up my house as a warm, inviting place.  But I am sucker for those cold, stark architectural element shots.  Also, those kind of corporate brochure images of empty board rooms appeal to me.

So, let’s start with the stark architectural elements:

And then a shiny, empty hallway:

A cold, empty room:

And finally, a last minute entry.  I turned the camera on just a couple of minutes ago, and turned it on my computer keyboard.  I know, so boring, but actually the result looks totally cool.  I think:

Lest We Wax Poetic For Too Long

Snow makes the world look more special, I’d say.  And as my long time blog reading audience knows, I am a sucker for any kind of vaguely industrial scene.  One day I was watching a movie called “Man of Iron” about the Solidarity movement in Poland and suddenly realized that was the source of my fascination with such things.  But let’s not dwell on me.  As the motto of this blog says, I’m never in any of the photos because I am the one taking them.

Well, anyway, I’m not going to wax poetic any longer.  I am going to give you all the genesis of the how the following photos came to be.  I have a job.  I have another job.  At the second job, it was required of me to travel to a building far away from the second job to do my work.  And I will continue to do so for quite a while.  My first trip out there was on Monday.  In the cold.  In a snow storm.  How did I react?  Well, how I usually react.  I snapped a few photos.  Because when I am handed misery, I make photos:

Heaven’s Gate

This title was easy because these are pictures of this ski trail that starts at a life in Sugarbush called Heaven’s Gate.

Ever done anything that brings you immense physical joy?  I mean more joy than you can ever imagine?  Well, forget it.  Skiing Heaven’s Gate is so much better than that.  Sure, whatever you did probably didn’t take place at sub zero temperatures and probably didn’t involve sliding in snow on slippery board, but the fact remains.  Heaven’s Gate tops it, whatever it is.

Just Popping

Yeah, it snowed yesterday.  I love it when it snows because the whole mood of a place changes.  And I get to experiment with popping my flash.  Now this is a deeply kept photography secret, but it stops the action of snow falling.  Check it out:
