I’m Conducting an Ethnographical Study of Bowling Alleys
I do the important work. I make sacrifices for my work. I must visit all the bowling alleys and collect all their free socks.
Let’s check out Boston Bowl. Where all the cool people hang out:
Yeah, just two perspective-y kind of shots. But will you check out those colors?? I mean just insanely great. And an action shot:
As you can see, the lady fell in the lane. And the other lady joined her, but the lanes are really slippery, so it was chaos. And laughter, of course.

We All Put on Masks
I guess in life we all wear masks. When people ask us to do something that we don’t want to do, we suck it up and do it with a smile on our face, pretending like it isn’t a big problem. Sometimes we don’t get something we want but we can’t let our faces show it because one of our friends has just gotten what we want. That’s life I guess.
Why the sudden fascination with masks?? Well, over the weekend I attended an amazing event called the Harvard Masquerade Ball. I was invited to take photos at the event and even if I hadn’t been, I would have anyway.
The whole thing had this over the top decadent quality to it. There were tables of desserts, dancers, drinks, performers, the whole nine. The event itself was at the Harvard Club of Boston, which is just this giant mansion that lends itself to mysterious masquerade balls. It had all the makings of this Venetian night of mistaken identity.
Another part of me thought that for sure there would be at least a few denouements happening that evening. My experience with masquerade balls until last weekend was strictly limited to episodes of Gossip Girl where Blair or Chuck or someone gets some kind of surprise at that kind of a soiree.
There were no surprises at Saturday’s event. Just tons of fun and masks and a little decadence:
