A couple of years ago I sat down to write an entry on this blog about how I went to Coney Island for the first time in 20 years and there happened to be a massive hurricane that day. I thought no other adventure would ever top that one.
But I got one that did. Today I visited South Boston for the first time, or Southie. Southie is a lovely place that doesn’t get nearly the credit it deserves for its beauty. However, no one told me about the number of the planes. Oh and because whenever I visit a new place, this is what happens:
The London Olympics starts in a couple of days. I’m ready with my American flag t-shirt to cheer on Michael “Baltimore Bullet” Phelps onto gold medal number 47 and 48 respectively, which hopefully in the process will be stolen from Cavics who don’t deserve them.
Boston is also preparing for the whole thing in the only way it knows how. It is wearing costumes and doing flips. No, I’m serious. Here are some photos as proof:
