I challenge you not to smile when you look at this face:
I guess I can give some long explanation about how I came to make these photos. OK, here’s the long explanation.
I ride the green line up and down Boston every single day. I hate the green line. It makes me want to tear my hair out. I hate that it is late all the time. I hate that it stops every 20 feet. I hate that it is packed 24 hours a day, 7 days a week. I hate everything about it.
However, there is one good thing about it. When it finally travels underground, it goes through these unbelievably beautiful tunnels that are illuminated by the lights from the train and most of the time, no lights. They remind me of ancient hallways. I mean the green line is 100 years old and those tunnels are that old as well. But it makes for a beautiful effect when one is traveling through them.
Today I was riding the green line as I usually do and I was sitting in the front of the train with an unobstructed view of the tunnels. Usually the train is so full, I can’t see anything. Today I lucked out. Pure dumb luck got me these:
I’ve never mentioned up here what I do for a living. I’m not going to start mentioning it now, but I can say that my job closely resembles the 1970’s TV show Taxi. I mean I don’t work as a taxi driver and my boss is not Danny Devito.
But I loved that show growing up and how it showed the quirks in people. My work place closely resembles a sitcom. People fall out of chairs. Things get thrown. People laugh, they cry, they get emotional. It’s never boring.
This my friend is our Danny Devito combined with a little bit of Latka Gravas:
As a keen observer of fashion, I must spot trends. The trend we will be highlighting here is bright colors. As a fashion expert, I can tell you that orange and hot pink will be very important in this coming fashion season. See:
When I saw this, I thought the orange was becoming a real trend:
And those bright colors extended to the umbrellas of Downtown Crossing:
This will get progressively more weird as we go on. First, just a lot of stripes:
Then one of these things that you see in Boston all the time that at first seems amazing but then no longer seems amazing. Unless the guy starts running away from you:
And the last, well, the last defies the laws of gravity and logic and scares me a little bit:
My feet just hurt looks at those crazy shoes. Good luck with them lady. Good luck.
