I took these photos feet apart and minutes apart.  I absolutely did not mean them to be this similar compositionally (but not subject matter wise):

The first photo was kind of a “I’m bored” shot from the Green Line.  I wanted to photograph the incredible tunnels underneath Hynes-Copley-Arlington-Boylston but I got yelled at that before, so I went for this one:

And this one is in appreciation of Valentine’s Day.  A typically sweet holiday:

Secrets for the taking these kinds of photos:

1. Sit on ski lift.

2. Careful not to drop the camera 100-200 feet below, while taking it out of your pocket with your thick gloves.

3. Shoot away, while chatting with the skiing instructor.

4. Bring home, upload to computer and cut liberally.

5. The results:

I went to Wachusett yesterday, got home and thought “eh, I just took a few pictures.”  Turns out a few in my mind is 120.  Yeah, I mean a few.  Very little in fact.  Well, anyway, I always loved those “skier kicking up snow” kind of shots, so I attempted some of my own:
