The subject, the image, the inspiration, the location

One day when I was visiting my parents home from college, my dad watched a documentary about the photographer Man Ray.  This had always happened to me where I wanted to replicate or do my own kind of art after I had seen it done by Man Ray or some other artist.  Usually it was someone like Picasso, who can paint.  I can’t paint.  I can’t draw a straight line.  But I can take photos and I love Man Ray.  Yesterday’s bull figurine production produced a reaction of “imitating Man Ray.”  Tonight I went right for it.  Tonight I threw it all out there and made this:

It comes across as strong, yet surrealistic, yet also shows the smoothness of outside of the figurine.  The figurine by the way was a present from someone I have been helping out for the past couple of months.

Now to the glam location of this ever glamorous photo shoot.  Industria?  Coco Chanel’s apartment?  My kitchen?  No, wrong on all counts.  My bathroom.  Yes, this super glam photo shoot happened in my bathroom.  I have crown molding in my bathroom that has a high ceiling above it so there is a lot of space.  So, the bull fit in there pretty well.  And takes on a certain fierceness at that angle.
