Introducing Toribio!

Yes, ladies and gentlemen, this is Toribio Fernando de Barcino.  I was going to add a Gonzalez Fernandez to his name but I thought the name was double decker enough.  Let me explain the name.  Toribio came as the result of the overwhelming votes from a Facebook poll.  Yes, one person said “Toribio” and my father suggested “Ferdnando” and Toribio came with a tag on him that said “Barcino” so I added the “de” to give it an aristocratic air about it.

Let me tell you about Toribio.  He likes long runs on the beach and the sound of the ocean in his ears.  He dislikes little white guys in sequined outfits who aim to do him harm.  Toribio’s ultimate goal in life is to run free.  He also doesn’t non-sequin wearing white guys running around in front of him trying to annoy him.  But really, who does?

The black and white side of things

Today the snow.  Tomorrow, we go back to the photographing of the bull in his various moods.  Also, I am considering taking him out in the snow.  I am sure the snow isn’t going anywhere for a while.  In the meantime, let’s look the black and white side of things. For some reason black and white works very well with snow.  Snow obviously is just white on white on white and sometimes a bit of color is good.  Other times subtle tones of black and white work just as well or even better.  See if you agree:

Time to discuss the snow storm

Yes, today was Boston’s snowpocalypse 2011.  It snowed and snowed and snowed.  To add to the fun, my electricity went out for a couple of hours, but somehow I didn’t freak out.  A few years back my electricity went out for a week.  A couple of hours is kind of not a big deal to me.

But this Boston January 12, 2011 (for Googling purposes) was a big deal.  I was awoken at 4am to the sound of a guy telling everyone on the street to get their cars off the street.  Everything work related was cancelled today.  So, I sat, I relaxed, I read a book, ate a little, watched Doctor Sheldon Cooper talk a little bit.  Alas also there was picture taking.  A lot of picture taking.  First we’re going to look at the color side of things.  Warning, if you don’t like to look at a lot of color photos either don’t keep looking or just wait for the black and white entry to follow.  The color side of things:

The bike was a necessity, the guy with the dog just luck.
