These days I seem to go to New York with a lot of people that have never been there before.  That is a really unique experience.  My entire life was spent with New York City in the background.  I once heard a quote and I don’t know who to attribute it to that everyone has a New York in their mind.

Going there with new people is interesting.  I assume because the city is so incredibly famous that they must know the city.  They must know their way around, they must know where all the streets are, but of course they don’t.  But they are amazed and awed by the city and that is all I ask of the people I take there.  Appreciate the place for what it is.

No matter how many times I go to New York or I live there, I will also be awed by the sky line.  I guess forever a newcomer:

Lately I’ve been fascinated by planes in the sky over beaches.  No, it has nothing to do with the fact that they seen to be in the news a lot lately.  And yes, I realize this is quite an unusual fascination.

This interest started at the same place all of my photographic interests started.  I saw a photo of a plane flying very low over a beach and I wanted to reproduce it.  Imitation.  And I just want the experience of taking such a photo.  Sometimes the experience is an integral part of taking the photo.

Boston seems to boast a lot of beaches at are near airports, but the planes are up too high.  I might have to find a better vantage point.  But I am practicing right now for that ultimate shot:

A couple were standing by a vail of Pope John Paul II’s blood.  Some of them were wearing some clothes.  Some of them were wearing no clothes.

Somehow they were all close together.  Fittingly New York:

But we can enjoy the windows over there:

I love my yearly trip to the aquarium.  It could be more often because its not like the aquarium is that far away or honestly that expensive, but I like going in the summer.

My best friends, the Grumps, or the penguins to regular people are my favorite part of the visit.  Yeah, they are cute and black and white and all the rest of it, but really what I love is how grumpy they are.  They always fight over the best fish, the best spot and the cutest mate.  I could sit and watch them all day.

They on the other hand just watch each other and the food hander outer person:

Sometimes life throws you a curve ball, maybe too.  You just have to roll with it.

Curves:
