Synchronicity

Interconnected principles.

Something inexpressible.

Totally connectable.

Extrasensory Synchronicity

Nope, sorry, not my brilliant words, rather those of Mr. Sting from one of the greatest albums of all time, Synchronicity.  An album that played non stop on my college CD player for close to a year.  An album that now takes me back to those days.

Why the long winded explanation?  The next series of photos brought the mind the word synchronicity.  And the album.  So I got to talk about it.  And follow up with photos.  So to achieve synchronicity, we must first dance in a synchronized manner:

Then you must also meditate in an equally synchronized manner:

Boston Fashion File XXXV

Mustache edition.

How does one measure the quality of a mustache?  Luckily, I consulted the Google, which in turn led to a world renowned  mustache expert Ron Swanson.  Ron loves steak, whiskey, little Sebastian and mustaches.  Ron, for the uninitiated is the genius creation of an actor named Nick Offerman.  A genius.

Today I saw a guy with mustache who said he had been growing out for a while:

Now let’s see where the mustache falls on the Ron Swanson mustache scale:

Unfortunately, I think this young man may not get Ron’s approval.  Keep growing your blue mustache, friend.  One day Ron will approve of you!!!

Open Your Mind

I went to the Nick Cave exhibit at the Institute of Contemporary Art on Thursday and found myself fascinated.  There will be photos, but at first a few words.

Museums are tough places to sometimes because people have such a visceral reaction to art.  Few things bring out that kind of reaction in people.  People love art or people hate art but no one is middle of the road about it.

When I went to the Nick Cave exhibit at the ICA, I kind of felt that way.  I was looking at the sculptures (I guess that is the best way to describe it) and I thought “this is so new and interesting.”  See that work up close, I felt my mind expanding to accept new things and ideas.  I like that about museums.  But some people don’t.

OK, enough talking.  Some photos, already:

That’s A Fire??? That’s A Fire.

That was some fire.

Today I had the fortune/misfortune of being at the top of the Prudential Center at about 3pm, when I spotted an enormous plume of smoke coming up from a building towards the Charles River.

I actually just thought it was some steam, but the closer I looked, the scarier it looked.

Whenever things like that happen, I want to go over and see it closer.  The journalist in me I guess.

The fire (looking kind of miniature, but also in panorama):
