Perfect

Rarely, rarely when I take a photo it comes out of the camera perfect and this was case of this. No editing, just straight out just like this. Yeah, it is a hot dog vendor, but the light is great, the composition is great and the whole thing made me generally very happy.

Hello Handsome

Yup, this is the photojournalismizing for today. Not to mention my lord, was this guy handsome. My little self worked up the nerve to talk to him. After I took the picture, of course.

As almost an afterthought, he was standing outside of Harry Winston’s guarding the jewelery there. Of course.

In New York, everyone is a star

The Guggenheim just installed this lighting arrangement out front and it really looks amazing. These two above, they were posing for pictures and I snapped them when they were laughing at what they had just taken. These two cool cats were having a smoke:

And this final one, was complete and total luck:

This person (wasn’t sure if it was a boy, girl or Isis) and they just stood under the lights and made that face. It was great! Also, I did very little editing here, so these are pretty much how they came out of the camera.

I am minorly obsessed with this building

I call this the “double building.” I have photographed this thing in oblivion and never been happy with any of what I have taken. Today I took a really long walk around New York and got to a spot in the park with an absolutely perfect view of this building and just started shooting. Then of course I went wild with the processing because that is what I do best. First up, we have the black and white:

This isn’t a true black and white, because the picture started out kind of gray and when I started playing with it and that’s how it went. Next up the blue:

I love blue. I was a tungsten slide film addict when I used to shoot film. There’s a sentence you don’t see everyday, but I used it so much because I love the moodiness it gives a photo. Now through the magic of post production, I can have one blue picture and the rest how ever I want.

The infrared:

Well, this isn’t infrared, but it looks like it.

And finally, the slightly overexposed sepia:

So, my faithful audience, comment and pick your favorite, please.
