Go ahead, call me a photojournalist, I can take it

Well, I try:

I always try for this New York street photo. Now I got a focal point of the mean people suck sticker guy. I had to pay the guy $5 to take the photo. And, I have a nice sticker on my camera bag now.

And this one:

Well, if you are going to sell condoms, make sure they are for both parties. Like the way the photo turned out though.

Yup, call me repetitive, I can take it

Didn’t you already take this photo about a year ago? Yes, in fact I did. I know that I already took it. No need to remind me, but I decided to add the human element into this version of it to make it a little different from last year’s model. Also, I took a few that are not so heavily Gotham:

And also these, that I couldn’t decide which I liked the best, so I posted all of them:

The last three I guess I would call “photojournalism” or something. Not fine art photos, not meant to be.

Sometimes I just do regular type stuff

I start off with this shot because there is something just wistful American Gothic looking. So, yeah, so obviously I went to a wedding this weekend and the bride is an old friend. Like I always say, this thing is about my photos, not my life, so that’s all I am going to say about that. They had a wedding photographer, but I wanted to get the weird, behind the scenes type of stuff that the other guy wouldn’t get. And I do believe I got it. I got some typical wedding stuff:

But I got a couple like this one that I think are a little atypical for wedding shots:

Then these, total backstage details kind of stuff:

That’s the other camera totting insect fixing my friend’s dress. And these:

I got the reception too:

I liked the paparazzi feel to that one. This next one was inspired by a photo I saw in the New York Times once of revelers at a party at the Plaza Hotel in the 1950s:

And, lastly, love, oh love:

Primary colors

I loved how cool the primary colors looked on this one. This was kind of a quick shot too, point camera upwards, click camera, move forward. I was with a friend who I am sure did not want to stand there with me and watch me bracket this shot for an hour, but sometimes one shot is all you need.

Stewie ain’t happy

OK, so now I become a photojournalist. These are from the recent San Gennaro festival in Little Italy. Sure, kind of a normal thing to do over a weekend, but it was fun. Food, fun, lots of photos.

First, the food:

There were tons of kids around, who are so much fun to photograph:

And, people just wandering around:

People selling all kinds of stuff:

To close it out, a band playing, making things that much fun:

Grainy weird

Eh, the camera totting insect has kinda been on vacation lately, being that I can’t carry the big digital SLR with me all the time, so I take the little Powershot everywhere. Hence the work is a little different now. But anyway, I went out (I know, amazing, right?) on Saturday night and I got these:

I’ve never been a huge fan of going out, but I did always want to take pictures while I was out. Unfortunately, people always squeeze together for these random “people together” party shots. These to me look like those photos I have always wanted to take.
