Christmas, Florida style

And oh boy am I on the ball with this one, just in time for the birthday of Martin Luther King. Still, I admit that being in Florida around Christmas was kind of funny and great because it was warm and covered in palm trees.  And Florida style Christmas decorations:

Even the alligators get into the act:

Scary!  Aren’t you scared?

Look what keeps popping its head up

I got so many photos of these creatures that I couldn’t get to all of them in the first go around or the second, so here now on the third, are more photos of thus far the most hilarious animals I have encountered up close.  I think the alligator is the most hilarious animal I have encountered, but rather not up close.

Anyway, as this blog is a blog of confused attempts at photojournalism and art, here is some photojournalism (or photojournalismizing as I usually call it):

Worry not.  They will be back.  In fact, I feel like they never really leave.

What if one day I run out of things to photograph?

So I thought to myself today.  And then suddenly I remembered.  There are so many places on this planet I haven’t seen yet, so I will never run out of things to photograph.

In the spirit of that, I’d like to present two extremely weird photos I took recently.  I’ve been noticing it is getting way too normal around here, so I thought I’d shake things up a bit:

The ghost in the machine

I don’t believe in ghosts.  OK, there was the time my mom and I thought my grandfather was speaking to us through a lamp, but other than that, I don’t believe in them.  Most of the time

However, here I got this weird ghostly image I’d like to share:

This was a corner of a larger photo that I had to expose out to high heaven and then I vignetted it to make it look sorta more weird.  As if it needed that.  OK, there you have.  All of my photographical secrets.
